The New Normal

The safety of our stylists, clients, families, and community continues to be our top priority and we know this does not feel normal but we want to be abundantly cautious. We will be implementing some new policies and procedures that we will be very strict about so we can operate safely. We ask for your patience as we are all acclimating to the new way of doing things. We know it will not feel the same as before but it is for the safety of everyone involved.

SCHEDULING

We are working diligently to reschedule everyone as fairly as possible. Trust the process and know we are committed to get you all in ASAP. Please refrain from multiple phone calls. We will only be booking out two weeks at a time while we continue to monitor the situation.

In an effort to adhere to the stringent social distancing rules set in place and the nature of our small salon space we will be working with a limited staff and capacity. All the stylists are having to change their scheduled days and hours so please be flexible on scheduling. Please respect that stylists cannot work outside of their shift.

APPOINTMENT PROTOCOLS

When you book an appointment we will send you a link to our website giving you details on how to arrive and check in for your appointment, where to wait etc…. Please look over our updated cancellation policy at the bottom of the email and on our website. In addition you will receive a link to a Digital Waiver form that you must fill out and sign in advance of your arrival for your appointment.

We will be verifying your waiver at check in as it will be a requirement to receive a service.

When booking any service appointment we will require a credit card to be stored on file to allow for contactless payments and if any cancellations occur.  We understand cancellations may be necessary, but for any cancellation or rescheduling with less than 24 hours notice (barring an extreme emergency or illness) there will be a cancellation fee of THE FULL SERVICE PRICE. We have updated our cancellation policy because in order to be open and safely operate right now the stylists are allowed very limited amounts of time to work. Thank you for understanding.

All team members and Guests MUST WEAR MASKS. No Exceptions. The mask must be one that goes over the ears so you can wear it throughout the entire service. If you do not have the appropriate mask, we will have some available to purchase.

When you arrive to Vain and park in our parking lot please call the front desk at 512-524-1057 (or text info@vainaustin.com if you have an iPhone) to alert us that you are here…Please wait in your car and we will call/text you when you can come into the salon for your service. Due to the state requirements of one customer per stylist we cannot have additional customers in the salon waiting for services.

Please come to your appointment alone. No additional guests or children are allowed with you during your appointment as we cannot offer a waiting room. In the same breath, we will ask that no children under 12 years of age come for services for now as every client must come in alone.

When you arrive we will be performing a temperature check with a no contact thermometer. Anyone with a temperature over 100 degrees will not be allowed to receive a service or in the space.

Please, no large handbags. Bring in only what you need and can fit on your lap and is necessary (keys, phone, wallet)

We’ll greet you verbally – no hugs or handshakes.

Clients will be required to wash and sanitize their hands upon check-in.

We will not be offering beverages at this time. We also ask that you do not bring your own drink with you because it is difficult to drink with a mask on and we don’t want you to have to mess with your mask during your service.

Please wear a shirt or top that you can place a robe over during your service. Our changing room will be closed, however we will still offer you a sanitized robe to put over your own clothes to keep hair and product off of you during your service. All robes will be washed between uses...as always.

Our stations will be spaced 6 feet apart and we have limited stylists working in salon at a time to maintain required social distance between guests.

We will shampoo only to rinse color. Our shampoo area will be a no-talking area to prevent the spread of germs.

Shampoos will not be performed for any hair cut services. Please arrive to the salon with clean, dry hair.

No complementary blow outs with any service (for now). This is for two reasons. We don't want to be blasting germs all over the salon unnecessarily. We are going to be getting used to working while wearing a mask and we want our team to be comfortable.

Retail products will not be on the shelf as they usually are. If you are needing a product simply let your stylist know what you need and we will pull it from the back and of course they can make recommendations as well. This is to keep minimal contact and to keep products clean.

No cash will be accepted. We gladly accept Credit Cards and can process your payments with your card on file that you will be required to provide in order to book an appointment.
